Since Miss Mandarin is over (I think) you guys should go see The Lady From Dubuque at FCCJ South Campus. Tomorrows show is at 8 and Sundays is at 2 in the afternoon.

Shameless plug, I know, but its a stage managey thing. -Plus you'd get to see the Mo...if you call ahead and tell me you'll be there and I can talk to you afterward.

[ mood | impressed ]

A big...

... must go out to everyone who participated today. Everyone who helped, did a great job of getting things done. People who performed did absolutely wonderful.

Those in the Time Warp, I believe this was Mandarin's first ever group musical number, and we all did the best we could. We packed it with as much energy as possible, and worked our butts off. Our rating shows that. Superior!!!!

Ethan and Megan: Superior
Kristine and Roni: Superior
Allie and Theresa: Excellent
Chris and Max: Excellent
Kiley and Mike: Good
Caroline and Julie: Good
Allie and Rayna: Good

Congrats on a great disticts, everyone... Can't wait until January!

[ mood | excited ]

Districts is tomorrow!

Be there at seven. Sign in for ITS points.

Poster crew: Roni, Megan, Kristine, Theresa, Ethan. We will be putting posters where they need to be. We also need to be checking the rooms to see if the judges have all the necessary people... As in 2 door keepers and 1 time keeper. There is a note on the board as a reminder.

There are lists of who is doing what on the boards as well... as well as lists of all the times of all performances.

I believe that if you have not performed for Ms. Zell... Last chance... Perform tomorrow morning, or have ten bucks prepared...

I think she's being generous because we found the keys. Haha.

Otherwise... We're gonna break many legs.

Biggest thing to worry about... everyone... 1:34... TIME WARP! 1:00-1:30... we're dedicating that to all things Time Warp. We will be warming up, practicing, and all that needs to be done to make it superior. We can do this.

That's all for now.

[01 Dec 2004|10:55pm]

I don't think these would be here in time for the first districts, but maybe the second one? It is just an idea, and it also give money to Broadway Cares. Anyone up for it?

Sorry it is delayed, I posted in my journal by pure accident.

TIME WARP LYRICS [12 Nov 2004|07:08pm]

Need a little help?

It's astounding;
Time is fleeting;
Madness takes its toll.
But listen closely...

Not for very much longer.

I've got to keep control.
I remember doing the time-warp
Drinking those moments when
The Blackness would hit me

And the void would be calling...

Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again.

It's just a jump to the left.

And then a step to the right.

With your hands on your hips.

You bring your knees in tight.
But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane.
Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again.

It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me.
So you can't see me, no, not at all.
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention,
Well secluded, I see all.

With a bit of a mind flip

You're into the time slip.

And nothing can ever be the same.

You're spaced out on sensation.

Like you're under sedation.

Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again.

Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink.
He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise.
He had a pickup truck, and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change.
Time meant nothing, never would again.

Reminder: [06 Nov 2004|05:16pm]

People who attended the District Registration at Sandlewood goes as follows:

They stayed from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 (give or take a few minutes).

Those three hours there count for some nice ITS points.

Also, our one act will be the dance scene from Teach Me How to Cry. I don't really know how the whole extra things will work out, but I think they will. If you're wondering why we're doing this and not something separate... Well...:

The show goes up in two weeks. Two or so weeks after that is Districts. We don't have time to audition, learn, stage, and rehearse a new show. It's unfair, but I think Ms. Zell is going to work it so that people in the play that aren't in that scene make appearances or something. Please don't quote me on that. All I know is that that's what our One Act is.

Also, we enter the dressing rooms at 10:25, leave at 10:55, and enter the stage at 11:00. We have until 11:40 to perform... However, what we will be performing will not be near that long.

The times for performances have been chosen. Kristine will be putting them on the board Monday. Don't be angry if you don't like the times. They had to be worked around the one act and the group musical number. Also, they are kinda limited. Just be happy you have a time.

One last thing. Those who have signed up to be in The Time Warp. We talked about making the number of people smaller. Now, we realize that it is unfair for people who are IN the number to choose who will stay in... So, we plan to ask Mr. Adkison to audition it for us. Also, we realize that at least three people paid for Districts only for this number... I believe it is agreed that they are safe from being eliminated. Correct me if I'm wrong.

One LAST reminder... The show dates have been moved to November 18-20.

Anyways. That's your message for today... Bye darlings!

Some important dates... [18 Oct 2004|07:48pm]

[ mood | optimistic ]

October 27th - Next Drama Club meeting.
November 4th - Due date for Districts money and info.
November 6th - Districts registration.
November 11-13th Moved one week later - Play dates for Teach Me How to Cry.
December 11th - (am I wrong about this one... I get it mixed up with the 15th) Districts; Day 1.

Otherwise... We're good to go. Rehearsals are going well... Set pieces are coming along quickly. I see this being quite a success...

We need a few props and costumes... so anyone willing to donate or help would be well appreciated. I'll post a list soon.

Also... Anyone interested in set building and whatnot should stay after in Zell's room... I mean seriously... Where else would you go?

New Play Dates [24 Sep 2004|08:25pm]

Apparently, there are new play dates... Instead of October 21-23 they are November 4-6... Please correct me if I'm wrong.

[16 Sep 2004|11:20pm]

Today, Chris and I went to see Nunsence II... a play that our very own Mr. Adkison is directing. We saw nuns doing the can-can, nuns on rollar skates, played Catholic BINGO, sang songs and had a blast!
If you are interested, Ms. Zell has the show dates and so does Mr. Adkison... as well as directions.
It would be great to support him, but it is also a hilarious show.
Check it out!

[ mood | Pleasantly Surprised ]

Meeting/ auditions went well. While there were conciderably less people this year, there are more people who are legitimately interested in drama.

If there is anything I can do, ask me!

Awww... Hurricane! [10 Sep 2004|09:21pm]

Audition week was cancelled this week... For the obvious reason of our best friend, Frances... Mmm... Hurricane.

Anyways... Official news coming straight from a cell phone message left by our beautiful president Kristine stated the following information for those interested:

- Ms. Zell is currently out of town, and may or may not be present on Monday.
However, regardless of her being there, there will most definitely be an officers' meeting about what we will be doing for the first official Drama club meeting.
- A notice will be sent out (made by yours truly) to the new members about the date of our first meeting... blah blah blah... You know the drill. Officers won't be getting one... for obvious reasons.
- Ah yes... The first meeting will be (hopefully, if weather permits) held on Wednesday, after school.
- Tuesday (also if weather permits), we will be starting auditions for *play unknown* and I will be making posters for the audition.

If any one would like to help make posters... We have until, at the latest, Tuesday morning to get them up. If anyone would like to make posters on their own accord, please do. Remember, we don't know exactly what the play is yet, but we do know that the auditions are next week. Also, remember to put that we need actors AND techies. Anyone with a creative or artistic spark... Please help?

Ethan: This is what I am handing down to you. Notices and posters. If you read this, please take the initiative to make the posters. I've got a few poster boards I can make posters out of this weekend... And Drama room has tons too if you want to make posters during the meeting on Monday.

Also, for those who are interested in my personal activities when it comes to Drama... I have made... yes, made... and ITS BIBLE! It WILL hold all that we will do, and I will be keeping up with it throughout the year so that when we have to tally up the ITS points... It will pretty much be done. Yay!

Love and smiley faces!

[02 Sep 2004|10:52pm]

We now have an email address...

[02 Sep 2004|09:54pm]

For those of you who don't know, there are auditions all next week for our first show. The year is sorta creaping up on us.

Ms. Zell is being unresponsive about the first meeting date, so I don't know. I also don't know about dues.

I am rather frustrated, but I will work on getting what information I can to you ASAP!

Long Entry [28 Aug 2004|11:30pm]

Okay folks, do to a mass amount of miss-communication (We are working on that, promise) you may read some info you have already read.

But duh-duh , here are your very first minutes( Carolines were better, I still need her help) and your minutes from the District Board meeting(some info posted by your member care guru already)

Officers Meeting

-Meeting called to order by Kristine , 3:35, seconded by Megan (me:))
- Candy Fundraising
*officers are role models. follow rules
*we have 80 cases to sell (not to worry, we have already sold most)
*officers are slack picker-uppers. We sell any additional
*State rule-no selling candy before lunch (stupid...we know)
*We are on our own. No blaming Zellinator
*Everyone agrees on the gravity of this situation*

-No other business from Zell
-Mike commences to find out Ms Zell had a nice day
Kristine adjournes meeting at 3:45, several peolple then fight over who seconds it

(Really guys, once you guys join our lovely happy club full of
Thespian greatness- the minutes might just become interesting! Yay:) If you are a new member reading this after Tuesday, we thank you:) I also do apologize, I was deadly sick that day and my head was killing me. I was awakened to do my job, so I hope they are okay)

And now a peek into the utterly great world outside of Drama Club, yet somehow still at housed at Mandarin

District 2 Meeting (Represent yo!)

The meeting that involved teachers and kids

-Every sponsor needs to make sure they get Ms M's e-mail by 9/3 (we may need to help Zell on this one)
-go to www.flthespian.com. It is the State godsite
(you will learn what state is shortly. there may even be an entry dedicated to it!)
-All schools have to , have to pay their dues ($60)
-Have to pay $10 to drop I.E's now (individual events)instead of the five it is now (i promise in the future, this will all make sense to you)
-Please read all the new rules on site or ask for the student folder we got
The cool new rules-no costume rule
-no gender specific rule
*all additional information can be found in our nifty folder:)

The Student Meeting
Breaking news- we got a house full of teenagers to agree on something and nearly every adult later on to agree on something, go us!

Broadway Cares-
AIDS week- first week of december
-Notify Princible (I'll have a meeting with him this week)
-ask if you can have a collect jar in main office, drama rooms, and ask students to come in during lunch on announcments
-Roni idea -Small assembly?
-Wear red during AIDS week or on "AIDS days"
*-theme, 'living with, not dying from'

D2 shirts
- Well folks, you are just going to have to wait. But I think you will like. Oh do I thik you will like:) That is what all the kids and adults agreed on!

When Kristine (our prez) and Helen (her co-student rep) get on stage to introduce our critics choice we are going to hoot and hollar and scream and clap like there is no tommrow. We have so much silent applause every other time, this is our time to be rowdy and support. Unite!!!!!! Be proud. We are the biggest district, I'm dead sure we can be the loudest.

Unity- We are a district. Do realize that. We are separate troupes and schools, but we come together. We are North Florida High School's finest in our art. Together we are strong, alone we are dead.. (heh, roni might get that)

We then talked to the adults who liked the shirt, except Zell. We also talked about fundraisers for mainstages and for Broadway Cares. We stalled and had improv games. It was all very useful.

And as your secatary, I sign off.

Bye Now
